Our lines valorize all types of rooms and environments.
Especially the environment.
The company's industrial process does not harm nature or the environment, and does not emit any type of effluent or residue. Respect of and harmony with the environment is a part of the daily life of the company, that maintains a large area of native forest where its manufacturing plant is installed.
The creation of an ecological park of 100 hectares around the manufacturing plant is a project aimed at preserving the Atlantic Rain Forest and an old dream of the company's founder, Humberto Bortoluzzi, who over the years has purchased terrain around the plant in Tubarão (SC) to develop as an area in equilibrium with nature.
The direct involvement of employees in the creation of the project is a part of the company strategy, to make those involved in the project conscious of the importance of this land and to understand how to preserve it. Three groups of volunteers were formed in the three areas of flora, fauna and paths and environmental education.
A group of 25 employees already works in this area, each on the area that interests him or her most. Under the guidance of agronomist Giovani Kracik and a trainee from Agronomy course at Unisul (University of the South of Santa Catarina), the volunteers get to know the area better and program the future activities of each group. As an initiative this has a healthy objective: to increase the solidarity within the workplace and to make people more environmentally conscious.
The process of the park's creation has already reached the stage where all the land documents have been legalized and complete digital mapping of the area has taken place. The cataloging of species of native flora and fauna is currently taking place and over 1,000 native trees have already been planted.
A conference concerned with the creation of nature paths was organized to help the volunteers elaborate a trail within the park. The trees are signposted and identified to help visitors recognize the diverse species which make up the beauty of the Atlantic Rain Forest. Species such as Jacarandá, Capiroroca, Leiteiro, Red Cedar, Angixa, Araçá, Fartura, Cereja, Royal Palm, Figueira, and Maracanã are found in the park.
The
Itagres ecological park is open to any form of collaboration outside of the company, be they students, companies or the community in general, to help realize other stages of the project. The company plans to create a Bird watching point and a research center.
